The Small Business Program empowers entrepreneurs in Nebraska to build their own businesses, from creating a business plan to securing loans to finding real estate to cutting the red ribbon. Led by RPN Extension Educator Sandra Barrera, the program offers expert guidance in English and Spanish. From education to hands-on advice and valuable connections, Sandra helps entrepreneurs at every step of their business journey, making their dreams a reality.
EDUCATION
From budget projections to state regulations to cutting the red ribbon, we offer programs that develop industry-specific skills, training programs, and workshops designed to meet the specific needs of your entrepreneurial community.
COUNSELING AND NETWORKING
We provide one-on-one technical counseling and mentoring for entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping with business plans, marketing plans, financing, and legal compliance.
WORKSHOPS
During community workshops, business owners reflect on how they make business decisions, why customers choose to patronize their business, and how to identify key customers, equipping communities with the tools to build thriving businesses.
Small Business Conference
Held four times per year in different regions of the state, the Small Business Conference engages entrepreneurs and business owners with presentations focused on educating and connecting participants with experts, professionals, suppliers and vendors from various career fields, as well as training entrepreneurs on business creation and development.
